How to mix vintage with school uniform?
I begin with a new style this coming school year, and I want to start going to one-and appearance vintage, but also have to deal with a school uniform. I love the looks of the 30s and 40s, and I love the channeling of that kind of look in my style. My uniform is dress pants (khaki, navy or black) with a pole in the spring and fall, and a button down oxford in the winter (hide, of course). We can not use the jackets, scarves, sunglasses, sneakers or patterned shoes, which I think is absolutely insane. Girls are also allowed to the knee or longer skirts. I love clothes from places like http://www.unique-vintage.com/ http://www.modcloth.com/ and I have a lot of my design inspiration web site looking like this (I love making my own clothes!) So how I can make my school uniform more my style?
I would suggest jewelry or makeup. I think I could incorporate vintage pieces in her collection of jewelry like earrings, bracelets and necklaces to make your style unique. You may also research makeup styles some time and draw from there and test the best and re-create a pin up look. Good luck.
